MICROTEATRO is an innovative format born in Madrid, with more than one hundred editions carried out all over the world. They are micro-works of up to 15 minutes, for a maximum of 15 spectators, simultaneously represented in small non-theater environments, several times per night. It's a theater in the foreground, a theater of whispers. The first edition in Rio de Janeiro took place in November and December 2014 at Castelinho do Flamengo and was received with great enthusiasm by the public. It was used the know-how and the successful experience of Microteatro Madrid as a model and parameter to produce in Brazil an event of equal success and daring.

The trump of this first edition is explained by the originality and multiplicity of its proposal: seven contemporary Brazilian theater groups gathered in one place and performing their work with total creative freedom and infrastructure designed to stimulate exchanges between artists and the public. Microteatro RJ wanted to be an event in the life of the city, entering a different and potent universe composed of works, but also the corridors and stairs, the social environment, music and, especially, the meetings. A new experience in the theatrical panorama of Rio de Janeiro, which attracted more than 3,500 spectators in four weekends, consolidating the format and paving the way for future and awaited editions.
