What is the position of Latin American women in art history?

That's the question that propelled the creation of There's More Future Than Past - a fictional documentary. Directed by Daniele Avila Small and written by her with Clarisse Zarvos and Mariana Barcelos, the play was performed by a team led by women in all creative functions. In the cast Clarisse Zarvos, Cris Larin, Tainah Longras, with participation in video of Carolina Virgüez.

The show seeks to put light on the life and work of important Latin American artists whose legacy has not reached the general public, from a historical survey of real events, works and experiences of Latin American artists of the 60s, 70s and 80s. The play criticizes the official history, the power that the narratives of "truth" have about our view of the world and the places we occupy in it.

This is the second documentary theater play of the collective Complexo Duplo (from Rio de Janeiro).

There's More Future Than Past - a fictional documentary debuted on March 17, 2017 in Sesc Copacabana, in Rio de Janeiro.
